• Is there any way that my company can enjoy all the environmental advantages and also save money?

  Yes, there is: by purchasing BioWrap on a long-term contract and accepting the assistance of Biowrap Ltd in setting up a degradation unit.
  
  Currently your company, in common with all others, will be paying £14+ to cart a ton of waste to landfill. Simply put if all your plastic wrapping use, both by suppliers and in house, is biodegradable, then you can arrange to have an immediate saving of £14+ per ton The end product of biodegradation is CO2 , H2O and biomass with a molecular weight of less than 1000.

• Why is BioWrap 3 unique?

  BioWrap 3 is unique because of its ability to degrade completely. Over a given period in the natural surroundings, it will break down to a point where it will assimilate safely into the environment - posing no known danger to wildlife and leaving no residual litter or pollution.
  
  BioWrap in any of its forms does not produce any leachate contamination.
  
  BioWrap does not need compost conditions to biodegrade and will leave only water, carbon dioxide and biomass - the same substances that humans exhale.
  
  

• How does it compare to a standard wrap?

  BioWrap 1 2 &3 have enhanced Properties of "stretch and memory" over standard polyethylene stretch wrap, and provided Biowrap 2 & 3 remain within their packaging there is no trigger for degradation - i.e. it has indefinite shelf life.
  
  Otherwise, there is no difference in performance to a standard stretch wrap.
  
  

• How long does it take to degrade?

  This new technology is flexible in the extreme and the period of degradation can be varied to suit individual requirements. However, BioWrap currently is pre-set to begin degradation after a one year period - from this point, the action of heat and UV light in the case of BioWrap 2 and heat UV light and bacteria in the case of BioWrap 3 leads to rapid degradation as described. The residue is too small to see, although actual biodegradation continues over the next few years to leave only water and carbon dioxide.
  
  

• In which usage grades is BioWrap available?

  BioWrap will be available in all standards of stretch wrap including power pre-stretch 200% and 300%. Currently we are producing 17µm 400mm x 300m hand wrap, with a density of 0.92 gsm to allow businesses to make trials on a cost effective basis.
  
  BioWrap is formulated only from virgin granules.
